Shapes of eyebrows

The shape of an eyebrow is usually determined by three factors - its length, thickness, and arch. Based on how far they extend, if they are thick or thin, and the angle at which they are curved, the shape of an eyebrow falls into one of these categories -

Arched eyebrows: The common types of eyebrows based on arches are - arched towards the tail, arched in the middle, high arches, and barely-there arches.

Rounded eyebrows: Round brows follow the natural curvature of the eye and do not flare upward.

Straight eyebrows: Eyebrows that do not have any arches anywhere from head to tail.

Tapered eyebrows: It's dark and thick, but instead of a gentle curve, it has a prominent arch that thins out gradually toward the end.

S-Shaped eyebrows: S-shaped brows have a little dip in the inner corner, then a delicate arch towards the tail.

Each eyebrow is beautiful in its own way and there is no particular shape that is to be bragged about. Shapes of eyebrows can be slightly twisted from their natural form and hence, the trendiest eyebrow shape changes every season. Everytime a style icon or a star changes their shape, that particular eyebrow shape becomes trending.

Decide on what eyebrow shape best fits your face

Each one's face is different and there is no universal eyebrow that fits perfectly for all face types. However, there are some rules that help you find which eyebrow best fits your face type. For this we classify the face of a person into four major categories-

Round Face: Eyebrows that are full, somewhat thick, and angularly arched will look amazing on your face! The length of your brows should not be excessive, and they should be as close to the nasal arch as feasible to give your face a slimmer appearance.

Square Face: To extend your face and gradually soften your facial features, choose for high, curved arches. Make sure your brow is the right length, with the tail tip ending at a diagonal angle from the outer corner of your eye. Your eyes may appear droopy if your tail is too low.

Heart Face: Because they balance the chin, full eyebrows with a delicate arch would look best on your face. Thick eyebrows can easily overpower a face, but since your brow region is the biggest part of your face, this won't happen to you.

Oval Face: It's difficult to go wrong with this face shape. You can wear any brow style, but the safest option is to go with a complete natural brow with a delicate arch.

Once you have decided on what shape is currently on the trend and if it will fit your face to amplify your looks, you should then consider the ways to get it done. Eyebrows can also be shaped at home using a rich biotin volumizing eyebrow serum and a brush.

There are six ways how you can get your eyebrows shaped -

Plucking: Tweezing individual hairs to produce the correct form is the process of plucking brows. Plucking is frequently reserved for stray hair maintenance over or beneath the brow contour. Shaping the entire brow by this method can be time-consuming and risky to pull off evenly.

Waxing: By putting a strip of heated wax along the brow line and immediately peeling it off in the opposite direction of hair growth, brow waxing removes hairs at the root. The benefits include quick, effective results and a long-lasting smooth surface, but the drawbacks include acute redness and discomfort.

Sugaring: Sugaring is usually indicated for more sensitive skin or finer hair and gives less pain. Hair is removed in the same direction as hair development using a gel mixture of sugar, lemon juice, water, and glycerin, which pulls less on the skin and causes less pain.

Threading: A thin cotton string is twisted and rolled across areas of the brow to achieve hyper-precise shaping and removal by utilizing tension. Threading is similar to plucking, except it can handle entire rows of hair at once. This is the most popular method of shaping the eyebrows.

Microblading: Microblading is a semi-permanent brow shaping technique that involves softly drawing realistic-looking hair strokes over the brow line with a super-fine needle. Microblading employs a medical-grade pigment that lasts roughly 18 months. It's a popular option for brows that have been over-plucked.

Tinting: Eyebrow tinting is similar to microblading in that it is semi-permanent, but it uses a dye to fill in the shape and color you like. It can persist up to 6 weeks in most cases.

We hope this article was comprehensive in deciding which eyebrow shape you should choose to best match your face and the most efficient ways to get it done!

  3. I have arched eyebrow though it is not that pointed. In fact, I was in a beauticians conference once a few years ago and the lecturer had mentioned that eyebrow shape can make and brake the face.
