You're never too young to take anti-aging seriously.
![]() |
Yes, don't wait for wrinkles or aging signs to appear. Our daily hustle-bustle, pollution, regular sun exposure, blue light from our screens, and unhealthy lifestyle may cause a decrease in the radiance and health of our skin. Then our skin becomes dry, dehydrated, sagging and pale. It loses its glow from inside and this is what accelerates the aging process of your skin.
Why let such a condition be created? Why don't we take proper care a little earlier? Let's see how to maintain the elasticity and youth of your complexion with care.
When to start prepping the skin for aging?
No there's no such hard and fast rule for this. Though it's always good to start from early teenage. Actually you need to start the proper care whenever you feel that your youthful complexion has started to become dehydrated or loose. As you realize it, step into a special anti-aging beauty routine.
What is the best anti-aging routine for youthful complexion?
I'm going to share some simple yet pocket-friendly tips that I only apply on myself. These remedies will leave you looking fresher and rejuvenated.
Don't skip cleansing twice a day:
You know, proper cleansing can turn your pale, sagging skin into a bright, youthful one. So, start your day with washing your face with a good cleanser that doesn't make you feel dry. A clean and fresh face is the basic thing for starting your daily ritual. Gentle washing is what you need to remove dirt, pollutants and makeup. Pick up a gentle, herbal facewash/powder cleanser to start your day. Double cleansing in the evening is suggested to remove sunscreen and makeup everyday.
You need a toner:
After cleansing apply an alcohol-free toner. It will give you a toned and refreshed face. It also removes remaining impurities or makeup and prepares your skin to absorb other products. There are plenty of toners/mists to incorporate in your routine. I personally use hydrosols because of their hydrating, calming and relaxing effects.
Consider sunscreen as your best friend:
Believe me this is the best way to get flawless skin even in your 50's. When I was about to start my anti-aging care at my teenage, the first thing I did, visited a dermatologist. She prescribed me to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen lotion with SPF 30. That's because this is the single most important investment if you want a healthy glowing and supple skin.
All our anti-aging habits might focus on dealing with the damages done by UV rays, pollution, climate change or blue screen lights.
You need to use sunscreen every single day and everywhere including indoors. So, it's crucial to make sure you are applying enough on all your exposed parts like face, neck, ears, back, hands and legs. Do carry in your purse wherever you go, so that you can reapply every four hours.
Incorporate a serum to your PM routine:
A good serum enriched with rose water, vitamin C, niacinamide and also some powerful botanical extracts and nourishing oils can do magic. Apply on your cleansed and toned skin every night. Serum will help reduce sun damage, expression lines, balance the complexion and work on pigmentations. Start using serums in the routine at your 30's.
Don't ignore the power of a good moisturizer:
Your skin, especially the exposed parts like face, neck, ears, and chest is very sensitive to environmental hazards. When you massage a moisturizer on those parts, it helps protect, repair and hydrate giving you a healthy, radiant complexion you always dream of. Choose water-based moisturizer if you have oily, combination or normal skin. For dry skin persons, oil-based ones will work much to treat your dry, itchy and flaky texture.
Invest in a good eye cream:
Why eye cream? Because eye creams are specifically designed to treat the most delicate part of your face, the area around the eyes. Crow's feet, eye bags, dark circles, fine lines are the big concerns for most people. You need to look for a hydrating and nourishing product to target your specific concern. So, pick up an eye cream containing hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, peptides, and some skin- friendly botanicals.
Healthy lifestyle:
Only topical application of different skincare products is not enough. If you lead an unhealthy lifestyle, it can also aggravate the aging process. Let's check what you can do then.
- Eat a healthy diet. Poor diet habit not only causes health issues, but can leave your complexion looking dehydrated, aged or unhealthy as well. Include fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains etc.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Exercise daily. Regular physical activities like walking, yoga sessions, aerobics, swimming and other physical activities can keep you relaxed and stress free.
- Quit smoking. We all know that smoking can be harmful for our heart or lung. Do you know it can also be the cause of aging faster?
- Get adequate sleep. It will keep you happy and lower your depression, stress and anxiety, some of the well-known causes of fine lines or wrinkles.
- Try to stay stress free. Stress can accelerate the aging process, giving you a dull and lifeless complexion. Meditation, proper sleep, indulging in hobbies, happy family life are some key factors to stay relaxed.
