Here's my first review of an Earth Rhythm product Matcha Moringa Cleansing Buff.
It's no secret how much I love powder cleansers. So it was obvious that I'd pick up a powdered one as my first try of the brand Earth Rhythm - Nature Approved. I selected this variant as it's specifically designed for calming and healing sensitive, acne prone skin. This cleansing buff has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and healing properties that can help soften and smooth my uber sensitive skin. Before talking about this product, let me introduce the brand Earth Rhythm.
The Brand Earth Rhythm:
Matcha Moringa Cleansing Buff:
The cleansing buff comes in a glass jar with an airtight lid. You can buy either the jar only or a set of coconut bowl, wooden spoon and the jar. I've purchased this set. The packaging is very easy to use and the airtight lid helps in keeping the powder in a good condition.
Ingredients:
Matcha green tea extract, Moringa powder, Organic potato starch, Xanthan gum, Organic corn starch, Organic arrowroot powder.
Benefits of the key ingredients:
My Experience:
As you can see the buff is finely milled, and looks like a talcum powder, the activated texture feels silky smooth on your skin while applying. When you activate with water/ floral water, it creates a smooth, starchy paste that glides really easy on the skin. The paste doesn't foam yet cleanses thoroughly. My skin type is combination and hyper sensitive. It feels so calming and soothing on the skin and gentle enough to perfectly suit a sensitive skin. The best part is it's completely fragrance free.
This is my go-to for daily morning cleansing and weekly detoxifying mask. As a mask, I use it in the evening. It doesn't even feel like a scrub, at least as we are habituated to see. Maybe because of that I wasn't at all impressed with the texture, at first. As days go by I started loving the product because of its effects on my skin. While rubbing it on the face, it doesn't feel harsh, yet exfoliates well. The starch powders in the cleansing buff absorb excess oil without leaving the skin much dry. That's why I found this helpful as the morning cleanser to remove the oily residue from the night ritual. It reveals a clear and fresh skin and doesn't cause any rash or itchiness. If you have acne, use this. It'll help soothe and calm the inflammation. It's suggested not to use on active or cystic acne.
Double cleansing, right? Yes, it can be used as the second cleanser (the water-based one). The buff will clean dirt, de-tan your face, leaving it soft and plump.
Pro tip:
- Use it once in a day to avoid over-exfoliation.
- Never massage with too much pressure. Thus you can avoid damaging the skin.
- If you have excessively dry skin, activate the powder with milk.
